Subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality (hereinafter referred to as VGNKI, the Center, Institution) is a scientific organization of the 1st category. The Center conducts monitoring, quality and safety control of medicinal products for veterinary use, food products, feed and feed additives for animals, develops and certifies research methods. VGNKI deposits and maintains national collection of microbial strains, which are used to prepare and control medicinal products for veterinary use as well as to supply these strains to manufacturing enterprises and research institutions.

The “All-Russian State Centre for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed” (FGBU “VGNKI”) developed a method for determining the residual content of chloramphenicol in animal products using high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection (HPLC-MS/MS).

From November 19 to 20, 2024, The Federal State Budgetary Institution "The All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed" (VGNKI) experts participated in a conference on the results of implementing comprehensive scientific research plans titled as "Diagnosis and Monitoring of High-Risk Animal Infections" and "Development of a Vaccine for African Swine Fever, Including Oral Administration for Wild Boars". The event also included discussions on the activities of the consortium working on joint projects aimed at the scientific and technological development of the country.

By Order of the Federal Accreditation Service (Rosakkreditatsiya) No. Aa-435 dated October 15, 2024, the competence of the Certification Body of the Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed (VGNKI) was confirmed. The accreditation procedure was carried out in accordance with the Federal Law No. 412-FZ dated December 28, 2013, "On Accreditation in the national accreditation system" and with the accreditation plan SM No. 03.1-9.0017 dated April 22, 2024, "Accreditation plan for certification bodies in the national accreditation system".

From October 22 to 24, 2024, the Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed (VGNKI under Rosselkhoznadzor) participated in the International Industrial Exhibition of Feeds, Feed Additives, Veterinary and Equipment "KormVetGrain - 2024".
