VGNKI to hold international conference on antimicrobial resistance and control of brucellosis

The All-Russian State Center for Quality and Standardization of Veterinary Drugs and Feed (VGNKI) will hold an international scientific and practical conference titled “Veterinary vector. A comprehensive view of innovations and practice” on December 10 of 2025.

The conference will be conducted in a webinar format featuring the leading scientific and educational institutions, namely the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology – K.I. Scriabin MBA, FBIS Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, FSBSI “Federal Scientific Center of Food Systems” after V.M. Gorbatov, the All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Dairy Industry, as well as member states  from the regional laboratory network in the EECA countries on antimicrobial resistance to medicines in food sector and agriculture.

Two key issues will be highlighted during the course of event. Most importantly, the speakers will address the issue of shaping a common policy against antimicrobial resistance of pathogens of zoonotic diseases. Additionally, special attention will be given to the issue of responsible use of antibiotics in animal farming and the problem of maintaining the effectiveness of crucial antimicrobial medicines.

Another important topic of the discussion will be quality control and standardization of diagnostic tools and specific prevention of animal brucellosis in the Russian Federation. This disease still poses a significant threat to animal farming and public health urging us to take an immediate and comprehensive approach. During the conference, the specialists will discuss novel strategies of diagnostics, prevention and control of brucellosis featuring the cutting-edge developments and recommendations of international organizations.
