THE DELEGATION OF THE MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN VISITED FSFI “VGNKI”

On March 15, 2024, the Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality (FSFI “VGNKI”) received an official visit from the delegation of Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, headed by Amangaliy Berdalin, the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic and the delegation of Rosselkhoznadzor, headed by Konstantin Savenkov, Deputy Head of the Service. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the Russian system of control of regulated products and get acquainted with the work of the Testing Center of FSFI “VGNKI”.

A presentation on the main activities of FSFI “VGNKI” was given to the Kazakhstan counterpart, including inspections of foreign and domestic drug manufacturers in accordance with the procedures provided for by law, conducting preclinical and clinical studies, providing veterinary services and a GMO center in Manikhino.

Particular attention was paid to the development of research areas, training programs developed by the institution’s staff, as well as training on the basis of the basic department of biological safety of objects of veterinary supervision and circulation of medicines in veterinary medicine of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology - MVA named after K.I. Skryabin and FSFI “VGNKI”.

During the visit to the new laboratory building of the FSFI “VGNKI” Testing Center, the representatives of the delegations got acquainted with the most modern and high-tech equipment for determining residues of veterinary drugs, man-made pollutants and GMOs in food and feed products. At the same time, the activities of the laboratory for conducting research on pharmacological drugs using methods of capillary electrophoresis, spectral analysis, liquid and gas chromatography were reviewed.

In addition, the activities of the departments of gene diagnostics of infectious diseases of animals and molecular biology were presented in terms of conducting molecular genetic research aimed at detecting and identifying pathogens of infectious diseases of animals and birds, as well as testing vaccines for contamination.

As a result of the meeting, decisions were made on the development of cooperation in terms of laboratory control of food products, the possible conduct of interlaboratory comparison tests by the FSFI “VGNKI” provider, as well as the organization of training and internships for specialists from Kazakhstan on the basis of FSFI “VGNKI”.
