The Veterinary Center of FGBU «VGNKI»

The Veterinary Center of FGBU «VGNKI» carries out testing of laboratory, farm, companion and exotic animals as well as diagnostic laboratory work, using molecular genetic, virologic, immunological and bacteriological methods for detection of a broad range of causative agents of viral, bacterial and fungal animal infections.

It also provides services relating to preventive immunization and chipping of companion animals in compliance with international requirements.

The Veterinary Center performs antirabic antibodies analysis for animals travelling abroad. FGBU «VGNKI» was first in Russia to obtain the international accreditation in the European Union for the detection of antirabic antibodies in animal blood serum to control effectiveness of vaccination against rabies in accordance to international requirements set forth in Regulation (EU) № 998/2003, and confirms it annually.

FGBU «VGNKI» is a sole body in Russia permanently authorized for detection of rabies antibody titer for animals travelling to Taiwan, the Republic of South Africa (since 2006) and Japan (since 2007).

Unlike other Russian laboratories FGBU «VGNKI» possess the required technological and scientific capabilities to carry out significant scientific work in the field of studying animal infectious pathology. FGBU “VGNKI” is the leader in implementation of the new developments into veterinary laboratory practice in the national veterinary science.

All researches are conducted using latest generation diagnostic equipment that allows us to provide a high quality of laboratory diagnosis at the level of the modern international standards.

FGBU «VGNKI» employs highly skilled researchers, many of them with PhD degrees. Their papers on infectious and hereditary pathology of domestic animals are published in leading peer-reviewed national and foreign journals.
