FGBU VGNKI AND THE NATIONAL FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE SERVICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHILE HELD THE FIRST WORKING MEETING IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE PROTOCOL ON SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION

The first working meeting of the technical groups of the Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality (FGBU "VGNKI") subordinated to Rosselkhoznadzor and the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service of Chile (SERNAPESCA) took place on the 28th of October via a video conference.

From the side of Chile, SERNAPESCA and the Veterinary Pharmacology Laboratory of the University of Chile, the official laboratory for the Pharmaceutical Residue and Contaminants Control Program, participated in the event.

The meeting was held within the framework of scientific and technical cooperation, the protocol on which the participants signed in September of this year. Then they discussed issues related to safety control of fish and seafood supplies from Chile to Russia, as well as the methods of laboratory testing of fish products, including aquaculture, by specialists of the Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality, in particular: methods of detection of triphenylmethane dyes and tetracycline antibiotics.

In the process of negotiations, the technical groups discussed the order of actions according to the intended work plan. In particular, they agreed to conduct a comparative analysis of the systems and mechanisms of laboratory control used in Chile and in Russia in order to develop a unified approach. In addition, the Chilean side expressed interest in a detailed study of the methods used in the FGBU "VGNKI".

In addition, representatives of Chile clarified the possibility of detailed acquaintance with the laboratory tests to determine the residual content of tetracycline antibiotics, dyes and heavy metals in the matrix of salmon and mussels, conducted by employees of the VGNKI.

The experts noted the critical importance of such working sessions for both sides and agreed to coordinate on a schedule of follow-up online consultations at the end of negotiations.
