48 VACCINES FOR CONTAMINATION WITH FOREIGN VIRUSES WERE TESTED AT FSFI “VGNKI”

From January 10 to March 19, 2024, The Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality (FSFI “VGNKI”) conducted studies of 48 samples of vaccines from domestic and foreign manufacturers according to the indicator “contamination with foreign viruses”.

The drug testing was carried out using validated methods based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with hybridization-fluorescent detection of amplification products.

Vaccines for the prevention of avian diseases have been tested for absence of contamination with avian influenza viruses, infectious laryngotracheitis and bronchitis of chickens, Virulent Newcastle disease and Marek's disease.

Vaccines for the prevention of swine diseases were tested for the absence of contamination with Aujeszky's disease, African and classical swine fever viruses, as well as porcine circovirus type 2.

The study of vaccine samples using the PCR method confirmed the absence of undeclared viruses in vaccine preparations selected as part of the random control program for immunobiological medicines.
