VGNKI SPECIALISTS PARTICIPATE IN THE ROSRYBKNOZ MEETING ON VETERINARY DRUGS IN KISLOVODSK

On August 7th, 2024, representatives of the All-Russian State Center for Animal Feed and Drug Standardization and Quality (VGNKI, Rosselkhoznadzor) presented reports at the conference focused on the development and production of new pharmaceutical products, including vaccines, for veterinary use. This event took place at the "Forelevy" agricultural breeding farm in Kislovodsk, supported by the Association of the All-Russian Industry Union of the Employers in Aquaculture (fishfarming) (State Cooperation Union of Fisheries (Rosrybkhoz).

Thematic areas of aquaculture were discussed during the conference with particular emphasis on vaccine control methods and the registration processes for immunobiological veterinary drugs in Russia.

Anton Motorygin, C. Vet. Sc. and head of the Scientific and Technological Laboratory of VGNKI, in his presentation shared the findings in determining the optimal qualitative and quantitative composition of active components in vaccines for salmonid fish. This included the development and testing of methods for evaluating the effectiveness of the bacterial components included in the vaccine composition.

Ilya Emelyanov, chief specialist of the Virology Department of VGNKI, addressed the issues of assessing the antigenic activity of the viral component of a vaccine against infectious pancreatic necrosis, furunculosis, vibriosis, and winter ulcer disease in salmonid fish. He also outlined the main requirements for reporting documentation and stages of the vaccine registration procedure.

The event was deemed an important platform for exchanging knowledge and practical experience, as well as strengthening cooperation ties between scientific and production organizations in the field of fishery.
